Hi Clanners!

I have been loathe to comment and have been maintining an arm's length (even withdrew my initial objection / appeal) since, besides being a punter and having made some wonderful fiendships via ABC, I have no tangible interest in the game.

However, I am (that history does not accuse me of being silent when it mattered! Lol!), putting the following down (some old hat!):

1.
Whether Phindi is Queen of Clubs or the Rain Goddess is not relevant;

2.
The benefit her involvement has resulted in is obvious by the numerous posts and press articles; criticise, mock, support empathise or whatever..... she has an equal right as all of us to our opinions and actions;

3.
That the merger is a good measure for the industry may be laudable and realistic;

4.
However, that just ONE PLAYER (or, as mentioned by Barry Irwin on another thread and Sporting Post 'Four people sitting at a table and....' regarding that as a sport borders on insanity, monopoly and totally unacceptable; the total control of the operation by one player and complete non-accountability!

5.
I cannot understand how the Competition Board/Tribunal/Court could have endorsed the merger under the circumstances without calling for a wider investigation, explanation and/or examination of the history and make-up of the operator.

6.
Therefore, my suspicion (based on my experiences on the Gambling Board where I was personally offerred large 'stipends'), is that someone was 'bought out' or, they just went through the motions!

7.
In the public interest, not only should there be a review of the deicision, but the Public Protector and other jursidictions be roped in.

I rest my case!

(In case anyone accuses me of hiding!)

@FH:

with respects FH, I haven't mentioned colour/creed; we are about the issues within the industry.

as for John Freeman, he is not that 'clean'; he should explain what happenede to the R2-million that was given to him for the groom school (account fo it by audited financials), why he fired one of the principlas, etc.

Nobody is clean.... even me, I was sorely tempted to accept the bribe at the time and also have skeletons in my cupboard!

@FH:

Sorry, but defintely not against what you saying; in a different context, I agree!

Like all those who own shares in P & disposed of assets, etc (many of whom did not / and still don't have a clue about or the interest of the game), she also wants a slice from a different cake perhaps?

Is it any of your business how she is funding or going to fund her own activities? Why are you bothering yourself about something that is far removed from you? Take in comfort in knowing she will not come to you for help. Why are you not demanding answers from the people who STOLE and SOLD assets that belong to this industry and South Africa, seeing that you care deeply about such issues.

Umlilo never mentioned anything about race, creed or background. Neither has Phindi Kema made an issue of her race because what race she is and in this case it is NOT relevant.Ideas have little to do with race. You are the backward moron who is obsessed with race. I don't care whether you claim to have the rainbow nation in your family... deal with your internal issues because they have a way of coming out.

I see you believe everything that is said by your role model, Mr John Freeman who happens to be an authority on morals and ethics. I am sure he has applied those ethics throughout his career and will tell you more about the Grooms school's government grant funding. May his late father rest in peace!

I am sure Phindi Kema has never pretended to be rich nor has she STOLEN from you or this industry. Judging by what she has been able to do, which people like yourself who lack imagination cannot comprehend. She has so much inspiration to do whatever is necessary to continue along this path. Does she want / care to be a role model? NO. She did not get into this to be a role model. Does she care what you think of her? NO. Is she ambitious? YES. She is pursuing her aspirations of living a purposeful life.

Pity, because you won't get it because you are lame. I feel I am wasting my time having this conversation with you. I still believe though, it's never too late to learn! Stay well ;)

i wont call you sweety be cause i prefer phindi

john freedman i never meet be fore. the problem i have is he say very bad thing about you and your ability to manage a breed farm and more damming is you dont pay. now if this is false why you not take him to court. he is call you the fraudster. he call me that he pay a lot of money when i sue him. your silence on the matter concern me greatly. maybe is difficult to sue some one when some one tell the truth...... a very good friend who i buy horses from for many year in the valley tell me the stories is true. i now and trust him, i no now you and dont trust what you say. talk is cheap, the euro funding buy the arg whiskey no.....?

now phindi please tell me if you are buying arlington how do you get the people to bet on the arlington racing? phumelela will not allow you the use of their infrastructure why should they? what i ask is how this is going to be the viable business? how does the funding happen? i look forward to your answer.

if my comment offend you about race colour or creed my apologies. you only have to look how the attacks come to understand why i say this. i dont apologise for asking how the house of cards you dream of will work. or maybe you want to be part of the STEALING that can still come....

Umlilo,

I appreciate you setting the record straight and in some cases taking the flack for Phindi Kema. I know someone who has been victimised because he is seen to be on Phindi Kema's side. Sadly, this person has been vocal on these issues for many years, long before Phindi Kema came into the picture.

Umlilo, you are one of the few people in this industry who are not scared or fickle enough to keep quite when the need arises and this is commendable. People talk of fair weather friends, I talk of everlasting friendship. My friends and family have been my greatest inspiration throughout this journey and I forver feel blessed. I am humbled by the sacrifices they have made to keep me going and I owe every bit of what I do to them. This is what matters most to me.

Good for you for standing firm on the principles that seek to deal with the bullying that exists in this industry.

With very kind regards.
