Jehan Malherbe commenting "Horse Chestnut's killing them in the Met" to the great horse striding away effortlessly in 1998 and Mark Anthony taking control with contempt in 1988 was the most comprehensive victories that I witnessed...very special.

Olympic Duel that very special filly/mare from the Millard yard winning courageously in 1991 after surviving an accident whilst being transported where Millard lost some very good horses. She would not go into the pens because it reminded her of the accident when she was stuck in her box during the accident but Terrence Millard nursed her back slowly.

In 1994 Pas de Quoi piloted by master horseman Garth Puller came home down the Kenilworth grandstand at 20/1 to win most impressively. He was one of the most promising young horses in the country and fought out a classic duel with another brilliant young horse the ill-fated Face North in the Derby as 3 year olds. Face North who prevailed, then died tragically in another trailer accident. Pas de Quoi was attacked in his stable by a groom and suffered terrible injuries to his legs and was off the track for 2-3 seasons before returning to racing. All and sundry thought the horse ws past his best but Puller gave him a patient and sympathetic ride and won the race.

Two super wins by 2 super horses as expected and 2 "fairytale" victories against the odds....that's the great memories that I have of the J&B Met....what a great race!!!!

Had a massive punt on Polo Classic and when I saw Barend getting him through on the rail started going balistic.

Angus winning the met - and then subsequently naming my newly acquired puppy back then (Chow Chow), Angus. Angus (my dog) went on to become my best friend ever, but he sadly passed on late last year... Hence, my sentimental choice will be Martial eagle, he runs in Angus' colours (if my memory serves me correctly).

Sorry, not really related to the subject, but thats my J&B memory. (:P)

Politicians victory in 1979 was totally unbelievable.Watched that race plenty of times and it still gives me "goose bumps".
