Spies, imho, has spotted a potential opening in Kimberley for a trainer having sound and decent but not terribly talented horses, to pick up some prize money ... now that the old King of Kimberley isn't around to dominate everything like he used to.

There must be hundreds of horses around the various stables that are OK, just they aren't going to Hollywood, but I think there's a refusal of their trainers to take them to N Cape. Whether that's snobbery or just that the prize money won't cover the costs I don't know, but having them running seventh or eighth or tenth, race after race, isn't going to cover their costs either.

It's like a lot of the guys on this site have said....it's about placing the horses in the correct races....applies to battling maidens too...(tu)

This is fantastic ,over the years I have seen trainers that don't train at home they use racing as their training ,between race the horses just walk and do light work they are racing fit ,not training fit
I remember back in the old days James Maree won with Turbo Star on the Saturday and took him to Bloem and won again on the wed
