Well, my name is Margaret (yes yes very creative naming here) - I work for Phumelela Gaming and Leisure, started in 2005 and I’m passionate about the company.

I didn’t know a thing about horseracing before I started, but have learned more and more, and I’m starting to love the game. I am still an absolute apprentice though – there is just so much to know. I check the horseracing websites regularly to learn more and to see what is going on in the industry.

Otherwise I’m a geek – main entertainment is World of Warcraft, surfing the web - and yes the latest Star Trek movie is Brilliant! Following the trend – favourite horse is Pocket Power – beautiful horse – part of his fan club on Facebook.

Co producer on the Star Trek movie is Gary Barber, a So African motion picture mogul now living in Los Angeles. He owns several horses in partnership with both Larry Nestadt and Team Valor. He also produced the Seabiscuit movie.

Hi Guys and girls
Thanks Dave, I think it was Dave who helped me out with password, etc. this morning.
Like several other bloggers, my first bet was the 1977(?) July but a losing one - a whole R1 swinger with Lightning Shot and Politician. And like Magic Lips I was "apprenticed" at Ascot, Bulawayo. My first equine hero was Cool Gambler. As an 18 year-old then I once outbid the Mayor of Bulawayo to buy Strike It Rich in a card-call for the Tankard who duly won - I won more than a thousand bucks - boy did I think I was great.
Did Royal Ascot last year for the Jube day and backed War Artist whom I see is a nominee for the Jube again this year to take on JJ. I want to do the Cheltenham meeting next year.
I understand the merit rating system and as a 1st hobby I do my own MR's using my own criteria for selecting the line horse - time consuming.
Fav movie is "The Dirty Dozen", meal is a pasta and bunny chow. Love cooking and looking for a party. Like to home brew, am a member of the amateur astronomy club and support Nottingham Forest.
Got to get to the stove now cos the bunny is warming up to give to the hungry family who are mad at me for dedicating the TV channel on Bafana v Iraq.....

Was club dj in my younger years - hooked to racing since std.3 - love the PA!
Loved Paul Whitmore as an appy and followed him as a jockey. Pitty he never made it big. Followed Jim Polley as a trainer till he passed away.

High regard for Tyrone Zackey [met him recently and taught me a lot], Glen Kotzen, Gavin Smith and Mike De Kock. And of course Ivan Moore!

Two most balanced riders - Piere Strydom and Musi Yeni [hope Paul Whitmore will ride winner for me one day!!!!!!!]

I support Ivan Moore now and believe he will turn the corner soon - a great gentleman and kind person who needs a break.

Fav horse was Politician

Love racing - glad i stumbled onto this site especially after the hype around my maiden RAJINZKY running in the Thekwini at Scottsville. Love the views and reviews and racing needs this forum.
Love sports - support Spurs and i enjoy Shaheen Shaw and believe him a brilliant presenter - always straight forward and very funny at times - also good commentator.

We need more transparency in racing!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone.

Name: Chris van Buuren
Occupation: Surviving
Married: Unfortunately
Residence: USA (Not by choice, the ball and chain is American)

My family has been in horseracing since the early 80's. Parents were involved with TAB Transvaal for many years. My cousin was a jockey but passed away in the Hennemann air Disaster in 1988.

Horseracing is in my blood and in my head. At night I hear commentaries of how I would like races to finish....races that haven't even happened yet!!!! I think I'm a little touched, but to love this sport you have to be!

Favourite horse: (I bet you would think Tommy Hotspur right? He is only my second favourite) A filly called Misty Dancing.

I love Manchester United and I love Maria Sharapova, in fact I love most of the woman tennis players of the world, but don't tell my wife!!!

I like to make comments about a lot of things, but only constructive comments. I will never complain unless I went out the last leg of a 4 horse all to come that paid R575,000.00 (That happened to me once)

Good to be here
