We know that Kimberley had some watering issues on Sunday, and weknow that the going at Vaal Sand and Kimberley is variable.... it is possible that the going was very different to 'usual' going and suited those horses better on the day ?? Chances are none of them will perform when the going reverts to 'standard'. Only my 5c worth.

Absolutely Magi (tu) which is why it is so utterly ridiculous that there is no "going" differentials offered for Kimberley, it is farcical and shows a complete lack of consideration to the punter and their "needs"

Talking about jockey's trying hard:

Now ask yourself if Glen Hatt tried his absolute best to win this race....
(And in full disclosure i was trying to beat this horse in the P6 so not talking out of my pocket)
Hatt moves up with tons in hand, 20m out still sitting while Bernie throwing the kicthen sink at his horse, comes along side Hatt who only then brings his whip out, but still does not ride for his life like Bernie does...there is then a photo finish (Punter was not shown the photo just to add), and was given to the Yogas horse.

Yes many of us thought the same - I thought Hatt was confident he had them beat and then only reacted when it was too late - I think an error in judgement

Man, this is interesting. Do not think that Glenn's use of the whip would have made any difference to the result. He could have tried harder.

If he made an error of judgement, mmmmm No, he should haev known Bernhard was catching him 100m out

Sorry, I reaaly tried the error of judgment idea

The thread is good. If only we had the time to study this full time...

Mr H... I know you know this anyway, but I have to say this... "A" jockey is meant to be a (and it is one of my favourite words when dealing with SA racing) professional especially when people's money is involved. Let us just say you are correct and misjudgements happen occasionally... that is just not farking good enough to me, make sure must be the rule. I would have won a small fortune if "a" particular horse had won. If you misjudge and lose you should be banned a long time, but nothing happens, tis bolox.
How did I do Bob ;) cos i am still seething over "A" particular race!!! :X
