How do you get a hundred cows in a barn?
You hang up a bingo sign! :D

But on a more serious note: looks as if Paris Symphony and Surging Secret are bankers

If the course has had a lot of water, then surely the going will be hard, thus making front runners like PS and SS even better bets?

Weather and course looking good. Rain is predicted for this evening so let's hope the bus is on time and meeting can start on time....

Thanks to the Shams for their update. It is always extremely helpful to know early on the day if racing proceeds after speculation leaves one not knowing whether to study the form or not (though no blame for that obviously here)... best of luck to them today (tu) (and well done with Friday's winners!)

A very tricky card imho, not helped of course by the fact that we have no idea what the "going" will be (is it really so difficult for this, what would be extremely helpful information, to be advised and updated in the form publications? Surely it is just pure lethargy and yet another example of where the punter's needs are really not taken into consideration?). Even the horse I would have as a banker (Paris S) is on a 4-timer and there are those wise men on ABC who say don't back a horse on a 4-timer!!! Anyway, have a little time so here's my thoughts in brief...

R1 It may be best to stick with Grande Alado e/w... stable in form, Muzi in form, decent draw, only just edged out on his only attempt over course and distance. Grey Thunder did finish ahead of GA 2 starts back over 1000 but GA was reported lame. GT has a little to prove for me, even though that run was its second after a rest. Possibly the hidden danger may be from Lieutenant Dan, having his first run on the sand.

R2 No guarantee for me Zephyr will act on the surface and as such the price is too short. Decided on a small e/w with Kiwi Island. Trainer in form. Has the beating of (and better off at the weights) Snow Garland which has the beating of a few others (through Castalette) including With Passion. WP is the one I fear most, may be a sand improver, won once and placed three times, 4th and 5th in 6 course attempts and could be the best place bet. An outsider that possibly should not be ignored, Tristams Mistress.

R3 Another trained by the inform, SVW, Code Red looks to have a decent e/w prospects. Two wins and a 3rd from 4 course efforts. Capt de Lago not to be overlooked, 1st and 2nd in two course runs. He's Special would have fair prospects but for a poor draw and trainer seemingly not firing at the moment. Possible big danger with first run on the sand is Communicate. And don't discount Sudden Surprise if running.

R4 2nd run after a rest but Sweet Latte could be the one based on its run behind Levitating. She is coming back in distance (as are a few) and is not well drawn but I really struggled to find one to oppose her. Could mean a big outsider surprises. La Verge may be a hidden danger but was soundly beaten by Weather Report last time and that one seems to me to be the exacta horse should I be brave enough to chance one!

Need coffee... may or may not (a la Greg lol) come back and complete!

A shorter version compromise... :)

R5 Cash Counter is another whose price for me is way too short for a first timer on the sand. Equivalence has been very consistent for the sand but again has a poor draw. Could still be good enough and is a definite e/w prospect. Lemon M also drawn poorly but has a squeak. Levitating may be another Sham improver on sand, won when poorly drawn last time. Jockey bookings though might suggest Cash C is preferred.

R6 Despite the weight, I like Surging Secret to win here quite convincingly. The consistent Dance With Ryan for the exacta and Rosehip for the trifecta. Possible dark horse, Jungle Ruler, inform stable and an appie I like, first time on the sand with a very light mass.

R7 Paris Symphony. On a 4-timer but hard to oppose. Heyouneverknow the obvious potential threat but I quite like Gaelic Girl to possibly spring a surprise and at worst will make up the trifecta.

R8 Very open. Despite coming back from a short rest, and ignoring its last run, I quite like Muscle Man to run well. Has the Doc on board and a decent draw. Ice Kitten and Fast Forward could be the main dangers. Yet another Visser horse that could surprise first time on the sand, Desert Rat.

R9 From first to last... tough!! Gone with Zulu King to continue his decent form, 2 wins and 2 places from 4 Kimb starts including a nice win last time out. To be followed home by Pocket Magic and Metro Man. If returning to form Zuchetto could surprise.

Be(s)t of luck to all (tu)

Mondays are very hectic. All our runners are triers and we looking forward to a good day.
Looking for big runs from Alberts Choice, Cpt De Lago, Cash Counter, Paris Symphony and AJP but don't leave anything out of exotics.
