Variety wont have the luxury to slow it down, strydom want him to work for his money and if variety try to slow it pomo will exhilarate the pace immidiatly, have you noticed how pomo's gatespeed improved? he wont be caught midfield with strydom up......strydom want variety to burn himself because he know pomo have the speed and stamina to go a very fast pace and then kick at the start of the 600m straight...waw will be trapped wide with Jackson or have to tug in at the back and that is suicide with pomo and variety at the head of affairs, and he cant even try to pace it out with them over 1600m.....he can run 3rd put nothing better.....only way for jackson if they get a good break to use him up to pace it out with variety and pomo at the front but will he be able to kick with them at the top and keep it up.....i dont think so ,he can kick for 300m max ....variety have the best kick but how long can he last? pomo a very very big runner and can make it a double qp/j+b........

1st) Variety Club will win this, the only horse in his class is What A Winter, but What A Winter will find this a little bit to far.
2nd) What A Winter will fight for second place with Bravura and Jackson.
3rd) Slumdogmillionaire still needs to prove himself, but I rate him the same as Pomodoro, not good enough to run first or second in this race. Run For It will run for it as ALWAYS to late.
Others to consider for the tail end of quartet is Martial Eagle, Master Plan and Castlethorpe.

?......the scary thing if pomo and VC take each other on early the race will be run at pace this is exactly what a tail runner like Jackson needs......his finishes from off the pace in the Cape are notable......I doubt he will do what was done in the July and try pace it with the front runners......no matter the result or the tactics this Queens Plate is sure to be exciting .....will not be having a straight bet but combos of some exotics.......;)

I'm on this with Slum! However, Castlethorpes last run! Fastest finishing second makes me wonder what Bass has up his sleeve! Taking WAW into the race, as a sprinter! Perhaps to set a healthy pace?

WAW is not really a pacey type of sprinter....seems to need cover/company in the early part of the race....but I like your thinking as Castlethorpe can close as fast as any other....the one horse race (VC) is developing into a wider afair....and what ever I'm floating VC in seperate multiples....:P

Firstly this is horseracing and not everything happens according to plan.
But for argument sakesif the VC, JSKN, POMO, WAW that we know shows up on the day with no set backs its gona be a cracker. Champion miler, two top 10 furlong champs and and champion sprinter.
Let's not kid ourselves, VC has been untouchable over the mile and vulnerable over further however Bass trainer of the great Pocket power and river jetez knows how to place horses and would definitely think WAW has a chance if nicely covered up and not to speedy early, can let it rip against all of them in the final furlong only if VC hasn't shot 2-3 lengths clear.

My call is that WAW un proven but will be cruising and flying in the final 400.
Exacta box VC and WAW

Jackson maybe the long straight would help if the jock gets him going early enough and has not lost too much ground by then.

Strydom master of pace has no choice but to run VC beat which is quick. Hands down great Met prospect but VC/ Waw could just be smoking there challengers.

Gonna have to tread very warily with Variety Club here. Remember in the Gold Challenge it was an easier task although Pierre Jordan and co no pushovers BUT what was the story did he bleed during the race or what???

As he still hasn't lost his crown jewels as yet, may end up at Klaverway as 1st son of Var sooner than anticipated???
