Well, I think it's been a tough process and both sides have thrown all they have at it.

It cannot be questioned that the Competitions Commission had the best evidence from both sides to assess, evaluate and base their decision on.

It is therefore an independent and impartial decision and one I hope all parties will accept.

It would be crude to talk about winners or losers as all parties have racing's interests at heart, albeit from different approaches and one hopes that at the end of the day, a lot of positives can be drawn in terms of new levels of transparency and hopefully new levels of faith in the industry going forward. I think everyone wants for racing to win out.

It is indeed a new chapter in racing history and it will be interesting to watch what the new team choose to write. There is a lot of work to be done and a great weight of responsibility on their shoulders. I wish them all the best.

@zsuzsanna04 - very good post - well reasoned and in good spirit - one hopes that this is the case. This process has involved far too much negative energy which has not served racing.

Gold Circle happy. Phumelela shareholders should be happy. Government happy as tax revenue continues to flow. Cape Town racing continues for the time being albeit financed by Phumelela with the security of the properties. Just hope the Tote turnover can be increased otherwise it is still a loss making business who has mortgaged their main assets.

Under the circumstances this is about the best that could have been hoped for. The can has been kicked further down the road but the fundamental problems remain to be solved.

The biggest problem was natal was not intrested any more, one can only look at what has happened over the last couple of months with the new management team.
1] more sponsors on board
2] on course turnover increased
3]on course attendance increased
4]soccer pools inWC increased
5]on course events increased

and that was even before the result of the CC, now we can really step on the gas as i believe the new team know in what direction to go
