I'm not Craig ......but you don't have to be a doffie to realise that the panel is "paying lip service" to hype up certain lots to make sure that they go for bombs.....In past years I have seen that the panelists hardly bid on what they pick.....now one or 2 can afford to hype up and bid big on a lot because they are going to get paid a % of the purchase price.....nothing underhanded about this though as it is their job to do so....:S
Frodo is correct about looking for the lots that will have little commercial appeal but may be able to shine better than the big sales toppers
In his year Pierre Jourdan was just such a horse.....only Parade Leader on that sale.....it looked so odd he stood out like a sore thumb.....I had been ear marking the dam to drop a goodie and only picked him on paper as he showed nothing but dumbness in the flesh.....I liked the ped picture and thought it would be far better than any of the siblings that ran in PE......the dam seems to have been barren in 3 seasons since PJ.....was reported in foal in 2007 and foal registration reported as pending....but that horse may not have made it....Karma she is a b!tch....

Funny how not one go for lot 117,the lot that was meant to have put up[ the best gallop

47-No brainer, related to some fair sorts. I expected more from the siblings too who to date not nearly re couped their respective purchase prices.... should go for plenty and finally be the one.
120-Always liked this family and thought sibling Shogunnar was on the money.....dam destined to throw a cracker....doubt that this is the one
181-This dam always draws attention ever since Pick Six.....and Jooste will land up owning this one.....who gets to train it is a lottery at a price a riskey purchase.
88-This could be the sales topper..... the ped picture is a bit over the top but I like the dam side and I would say that this could go anyway.... could also be a high priced flop
94- The ped should work but that niggling feeling about that speed to stamina genome....
122-Not my cup of tea....can't see what MDK has seen
>
> JEHAN MALHERBE: Lots 47, 120, 133, 17, 31 and 88.
47,120,-see above
88- Form Bloodstock will be bidding on this one
133-Other Kahal's with more appeal
17-Shot in the dark...... these Captain Al's can be anything but inexpensive
31-Ped picture good....someone is going to pay plenty for this.....Joey Ramsden may have a say here..... Form to do the bidding
>
> ALEC LAIRD: Lots 110, 192, 199, 20, 115, 157.
110-Nice sire plenty looked above average.....this is not one of mine but should get some serioius bidding action...
192-Another Mullins Bay..... not for me
199-Alec looking at very average horses....may be bidding on something entirely different....shrewdie
20-This is one of mine....shucks the gallop was poor what is he trying to do....

shot Muhtiman you make sense with that - how does lot 117 not get a mention from all the panel experts - the gallop made it very obvious that it would be a top lot? or are all the panel experts not on abc lol.

Peeled past this morning.......walked in on MDK 's private viewing session with the trickster...... Mick did not look to pleased.......apparently its bad form to look at horses while trainers are viewing.....FFS they were out the box and all lined up.....what was I supposed let them put them back in the boxes and then pull them out for me again......besides I'm not going to hit on his selections......to Mick's credit he has a high number of well behaved chestnuts...
