I don't know anything but I'm happy to guess with the rest of you.

If I were a trainer would I risk getting caught for an ordinary horse in an ordinary race? Is it worth gambling my business and livelihood for it?

Alternatively, would I risk it on a feature horse in a proper race where they will definitely test? If the horse tests positive, lose the big race, lose the stakes, the owner, other owners, your reputation. They will go back and test your other samples.

The other question is who is the drug dealer? The vets? Also, samples are kept and will be tested later once a drug does get detected later. All I can say is if there is regular use, those blokes definitively have a pair... it's a proper punt because you are going all in.

Yes there are and many just don"t know it.....many top vets for big stables are big on Bute and tell trainers that it is the best....they use it up to 3 days before a race and flush with lasix on the day of the sprint up/grass gallop

of course there is steroids used even today.

It is unbelievable how dumb our top trainers are to allow vets to run riot in their yards with these substances........yet they are lauded as our racing hero's and are supposed to be top horsemen yet are completely oblivious to side effects of this type medication.....I would have never have believed Ortel had I not seen it for myself.....:

Just check what cars vets are driving these days.....they got the lotski......:S

PS I was extremely niave in the past as I was led to believe from these guys that bute was an fad/phase from the 90's.....well now it sells like hot cakes......(td)
