Going to love watching the race, listen the only danger to Frankel is the trip and O`briens team will definately try and upset and unsettle frankel. With 3 pace makers in the race don`t be surprised to see horses quickening up and taking a pull just to try and get Frankel to pull. The best way to get a horse unsettled is by sending horses past him!!

The race was first run in 1972 as the Benson and Hedges Gold Cup and in that year the race was won by Roberto. The runner-up, Brigadier Gerard, suffered his only defeat in a career of 18 races - aaaaaaaarrrgh!............. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Stakes

HIS STABLEMATE BULLET TRAIN HAS SET THE PACE FOR HIM ALL SEASON, ENSURING HE DOES NOT PULL. THE SAME WILL HAPPEN HERE. THE PACE WILL BE ON FROM THE JUMP.

I remember the Brigadier getting beat by Roberto ( won derby with Lester) now that was a great race and great ride.

If my memory is still working when Roberto beat the Brigadier it was not Lester but some South America jock? A name like "sasso" it was not him, but similar??? Please help

I remember Roberto went to the front and did not stop, clever tactics as Brigadier was a great miler and Mill Reef was the mile and a half, they never met again after the 2000 gns
