Formgrids South Africa shuts down today

what a bunch of hyprocites but they can have a competition for 20 people.i found their advert for that compo very condescending .they care nothing for the "majority of people" but like the government use it when it suits them

Had a long discussion with David and its a very sad story but I am glad to say he will be continuing with the International side of his operation and wish him all the best.

Its just very sad to think that our local operators do not see the internet as the way forward :S

I have a mate that is a BIG punter and he uses Formgrids before a punt - This might just be what pushes him to straight Sports Betting(and not with Betting World or Tab!!)

if 2 percent of the punting population use formgrids i can tell you that they make up about 15 to 20 percent of the turnover ...the likes of basel garner stuart and moodley should be held accountable for this disgraceful situation occuring

i think david is holding out for ransom here. Why today ? Why did he not offer a cash subscription to those who are willing to pay ? Yes we know the racing bodies are useless but that never changed overnight. David has also never asked for any possible investors on the site. How about franchising the south african version ? You gave all the info. Nah , lets use the punters as pawns,create an outcry and get the racing authorities to back me on my own terms.

Pirates, they actually don't give a sh!t........as long as there is a 6 place payout on big races, they are seen as the best thing that has ever happened in racing. Racing in SA is going in the wrong direction.............and i promise you that's not UP. WAKE UP people!!!!!

I have been pretty vocal on this for a long time.Formgrids is so ahead of its time in SA that this was always going to happen. The masses DONT have internet connection, alot of blokes on here "only" log on during the day because they at work. Weekends are quiet on here , that is pretty self evident.

Formgrids will only succeed in an environment where connectivity is the norm and not the exception.

Fundementally i can see that the "powers that be" see no value in it, ITS NOT the product nor David that is the problem, its timing.

Mark my words, FORMGRIDS wil become super huge internationally, formgrids will eventually do sa racing again but even then it will be for such a select few that it wont "odds" in.

David Safi is sitting on a GOLD MINE, today the achilles heel falls away, good luck buddy prepare yourself for greatness.

Personally I won't be surprised to see the racing operators coming to an agreement with David. Only my opinion.

ironically a very positive proposal is ongoing for international..

That's me finished.I came back into racing after i was told about formgrids not it's gone and i don't have the time to study from computerform and collect all the photoforms are mark the winners.1 thing i can't understand is why he can afford to continue with international racing and shut down local

And so, South Africa takes YET ANOTHER step backwards in it's march to become part of the international bloodstock/racing community!

FORMGRIDS was an essential tool for anybody overseas to simply, and without subscription, check the complete race record of any horse in the country!

I AM SPEECHLESS!!!!

The 'powers that be', as usual, have absolutely no idea about the broader picture of how such a site and service feeds international interest in this country's horses - and, as such, is INVALUABLE to the industry.
