A soccer scam did the rounds a few years back. A game for the weekend was selected and for argument sake they emailed 100,000 email addresses. They sent to 1/3 a home win a 1/3 a draw and a 1/3 an away win. Week 2 they would only send to the winning email address so would start with 33,333 email addresses and send 1/3 each result. This went on for about 4 weeks and would have around 1250 people who were sent 4 correct results. Then they tell them they have a program that predict results with great accuracy which costs x amount. Once paid they disappear.
Remember to live by, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. (tu)
