Dubai or SA???
Dubai... monthly, after all drug tests have been passed by placed horses.
if a test has not been passed then we get paid for all other rides except the horse that has not passed and wait until that test is finalised either way.
SA... 24th of every month is cut-off for rides and stakes tally. paid by Gold-Circle by 28th latest.
@Soodum, as per the Rules, it is up to the owner/trainer, as to what the arrangement is with the jock who rides their horse

Well dodged Chip, you the man!!
Another question I have is why do they make you wait for horses who haven't passed drug tests? you, as a jock surely don't have anything to do with the outcome of a drug test or the administering of said drugs? you the pilot, the man on top, the "judge".
That rule seems strange to me!
Ruby, you can train my ponies any day!

Tommy would guess that the jock won on a horse with an unfair advantage plus does the winners stakes etc go to the second and promoted horse?

In the long debated subject of who is the most vital link in the racing chain Jockey,Trainer, Owner, Vet, Stipe, etc it is widely agreed that they are all co dependent on each other with racing unable to function without all of them contributing, the unfortunate thing is that of the entire "chain' only 1 of the vital links show a loss month in and month out...so why is it frowned upon (and it is) when an owner who has a winner chooses not to share his /her hard earned winnings??
Give everything but up!

Imo the owner is paying for a service, theres no need to give handouts to anybody except the groom who earns the least, and does the most

There are fees for training and rides.............there is,in addition, the % take outs of stakes earned which is tantamount to a "service charge " (as on a restuarant bill) ie. the tip is guaranteed.
If there is something missing in this equation,it is that a portion of that "take-out" should to be allocated to the groom to ensure he gets his chop!

I think the grooms apprecaite it and no one in my yard expects extra from the owner and the grooms are paid out of the extra percentage. What annoys me and this goes back 20 yrs is when Alistair had a nice horse for some big punting owners and they asked everyone to keep it as quiet as possible and really try the horse well as they wanted a big bet. Alistair duly did all of the above and we said to them come down and have a big bet. We had an outside jockey who was a mate of theirs ride the horse and it won by 4 lengths. The jockey had never even sat on the horse before and he just cantered to the start and won hands and heels. He was given a R20000 present and Alistair and the staff 0! That really annoyed everyone. If no one had got a present then no problem at all but that was not right! Jeff Lloyd was great. He was given a present and came the next day and gave the stable half.

Craig, that I agree with 100%........I believe that any betting arrangements should include the stable and bets even placed on their behalf...................the incentive is obvious in my opinion.
I must admit that I would be seriously P!ssed off with the scenario you sketched!
(The best system for betting was the late Ricky Ginsberg's IMO.They were a punting stable and if they were going to have a strike all bets were pooled and placed out of the one pot ............the owners of the horse being punted got the "best" price and all the others shared the "average" price.
There was no stealing of prices so everybody was happy!)
