I don't want to get into a political debate on this issue as I also feel that this Pindi is a brass....but in our fair land to piss on the brass when it has connected influence and start a media mud slinging match to try and discredit them is asking for trouble.....specially if your own house is not inorder.....I voiced my complaint when the TBA/P/other racing elitists had a go at her in the press....they were just stoking a fire by doing so......now they must find a way to put it out....poor Pindi.....she showed them

Here is a report on some of the proceedings so far. Very revealing indeed.

@gajima:

on their track record of having a monopoly in Gauteng for 10 years, I don't see how P can ever raise an objectiuon against the arguments made by Marshalls on bookmaking licences in the W Cape?

Some bold statements there from both sides... hopefully they can support their arguments with concrete facts. Hopefully the commission INSISTS on seeing the facts, not conhecture, extrapolations etcetera.

Similar to some of other sectors major of our economy (mining, banking, retail and industrial), the handful of white elitist capitalists have hijacked BEE with a handful of opportunist blacks to ensure perpetual, unquestionable control of our economy to the detriment of the mass.

Herein, where are the blacks in Phumelela? We hear the chariman is black but do we ever hear from him / see him? Is he colourblind to the absence of blacks within the industry? Is he deaf to the gripes of the owners, trainers, breeders, punters, grooms, tellers, stripping of assets, absence of accountability, jobs for pals/family, etc? We are told of BEE partners / procurement; where / who are they?

Has mention been made of the fact that Phumelela (directly/indirectly) pays/subsidises the 'self-regulating' body (NHA)for its operational costs? That major share-holders / directors of P serve/ have served on this body? That they continue to do so via trainers (of their numerous horses country-wide) who serve on such bodies in the various regions?

Not conflicts of interest?

If these are not classic examples of a fully manipulated monopolistic situation, what else is?

I forget, as a 'not black enough black', I should not be making such observations to hurt the sensitivities of our people!
