I am firmly in Ou Ryperd's camp. Nothing like a few broken bones and smashed property..... and it costs less than the lawyers, and works a lot faster.

Sham Racing - Take them on! Get your money and if you have to involve some bad guys to get your money do so! It is shocking how some of the big guys are quick to phone for transport and buy at sales but cannot pay(td)

What kind of industry did I support any way. Maybe one that looks down on me like I wanted something.

Joey Soma said around the time of a Happy Landing, "Marcus said I should stop punting" or some bullshit like that. I take offence! Dont punt you cnut, its for the cannon fodder. This is the message I got.

Punting is for cnuts and kings. I ve been at it for seven years, I am not a king so what does that make me?

do Buchanan Boyes still exist in SAF - they will collect for you, and they're worth the 20% or so take out as payment of collections they collect for you.

Why are you invoicing the owner directly? The trainer is ordering the transport from you so invoice the trainer and make him invoice the owner......will save you carrying so many small accounts.....but the big question then will be "will u have better payments from trainers"?????????

Hotline, these debts cover the whole spectrum.. Owners, trainers, breeders etc. Over the years we have learnt who to charge owner wise, then tell trainer that he must settle, but unfortunately if owners don't pay us they generally don't pay the trainer either and although you always know where he is most times it just gets put to the back of the line.

The worst thing for us is when we get called out at night for ill horses. We have lost count of how many times we have had to leave a restaurant or party or even bed at 2am to take these horses to the clinic or OP (round trip of about 600km) only to be told. "well, the horse died ( or will never race again) and so I'm not paying"

However, from Monday we are going to be even harder as to who we allow credit. Guys like you and Homer are too few and far between, both of you ( as well as alot of other ABC members) will always have an account but also lots who won't. Probably will loose a lot of work but at least thence will know that turnover = money in the bank.

PS Well done to you and your stable for yesterday. .......
