Can't believe they went that route. Anyway, well done Lewis. Think Massa is under great pressure now at Ferrari and I know he can produce. Always the 2nd stringer in the team.

This must be one of if it the best season ever. Seems to coincide with Sky taking over the broadcasting with their dedicated channel to F1

Valencia

After one of the closest battles of the season Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel finally took pole position for the 2012 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe - by 0.316s from McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton.

I think Vettel will win tmo.....but Grosjean is beginning to look like a star in the making. We have had 7 races & 7 different winners in 2012. If race 8 should deliver a 8th new winner, I will not be surprised if Grosjean will be that one, but I think the race is between Vettel & Hamilton

What a day of drama. Absolutely enticing. Vettel in control until he had to retire. Alonso was brilliant......stopping his car in front of his fans after the race, laying the Spanish flag on the tar and celebrating with fans & marshalls Great stuff...emotion like you can't believe. Maldamado taking Hamilton out and allows Schumi his first podium since his com back....Brilliant

Alonso, Raikkonen & Shumi on the podium. Great emotion

Williams’ Pastor Maldonado has had 20 seconds added to his race time by the European Grand Prix stewards after colliding with McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton on the penultimate lap in Valencia. As a result of the penalty, Maldonado drops from 10th to 12th in the final classification.

The Venezuelan was penalised for ‘failing to rejoin the track in a safe manner’ after he ran off the circuit while attempting to pass Hamilton for third place. Their subsequent coming together put the Briton into the wall and out of the race.

Something is seriously wrong with the Mclaren pit teams. How many times have made major balls up this season already. Could this be the start of the Schumacher revolution

Qualifying - Alonso on pole after rain-hit session 21 Jul 2012

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso took pole position twice for Sunday’s German round at Hockenheim. First he lapped his Ferrari in 1m 40.904s in soaking conditions in Q3 that required Pirelli’s extreme wet tyres. Then, after Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber had come up short with 1m 41.026s and 1m 41.496s for Red Bull, Alonso banged in a lap of 1m 40.621s just to rub it in.

With five-place grid penalties applied in the correct order to Grosjean, Rosberg and Webber for gearbox changes, and then to Perez after the session when the stewards ruled he had impeded both Raikkonen and Alonso in Q2, the provisional grid order looks like this: Alonso, Vettel; Schumacher,
Hulkenberg; Maldonado, Button; Hamilton, Webber; Di Resta, Raikkonen; Ricciardo, Kobayashi; Massa, Senna; Vergne, Kovalainen; Perez, Petrov; Grosjean, Pic; Rosberg, Glock; De la Rosa, Karthikeyan.

Vettel, Alonso, Schumacher......my tifecta for tmo
