Worst ride of the day

another shocking ride by mansour for the woodruff yard....last week he butchered jet into the skye

Ya Pirates i was just about to say he tends to get beaten on these short price favorites and wins easily when he finds support at bigish prices !

What Mansour was doing in a pocket in such a slow race was beyond me, Strydom and Fradd were sharp, made there move around the bend...

Last season when he had a good card GW used to bring Felix or Anton up for the meeting. I am sure Anton would have gone up had he been asked. When you are in GW's position and things are not going great one should get the best people around you.

I heard on T'track yesterday that Mansour is to get married very soon, he probably took care of the wedding bill & honeymoon bill in one ride yesterday, however in his defence I look forward to seeing Alessandria on the standside track & with a quality jock on top. It'll be PAY, PAY at about 1/3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought Alessandria ran in snatches and at one stage I thought she would go backwards right out of the first four. It was her first run around a turn and her first run beyond 1600m, and I wouldn't be too quick to blame the jockey. The way she was travelleing 300m out, he did well to get her to finish as close as she did.

I also think he did very well on Vivacious Star to fin 2nd..

H i watched that run after your post and have asked for the ride on the 23rd over 1600m..thanks for the heads up.

Seems the boy can't ride under the pressure of odds on shots .

Only on the longer priced horses does he seem to puul out all the stops !

Or am i being harsh?

he seemed to have switched out after finding no room on the rail riding alessandria. That cost him the race as she ran on smartly, just makes too many mistakes also looks like he lacks the power to drive horses home in tight finishes. Do jockey's develop this physical skill as they get older or is it just differences in technique?

Because he does it a lot more than any other Jockey.

I remember 3 or 4 years ago, they printed the stats on Jockeys riding losing favourites, although I cannot remember the percentages off the top of my head, they were shocking, they then did another synopsis on the same Jockeys, winning on odds on Favourites and Honest Karl and Striker were something pathetic like 15%.
I don't know if anyone has those stats as they would make interesting reading nowB)-
