In reply to Harris, the jockey club revoked Gavys license, as he was diagnosed with epilepsy, he is on chronic medication to control the symptoms...he has been given the go ahead to ride work, by his insurance company, obviously he selects the horses very carefully in the mornings that he rides work on.. But shall no longer ever be able to race ride again.. Hope this clears up your question..

It's great that Gavin can at least still work behind the scenes. His exact words to me when I saw him at the Algoa Cup were "I love riding horses", so while it may not be in races any longer it's a whole lot better than nothing.

Sorry to hear that Gavin won't ride races again. I remember Jonty Rhodes the cricketer had the same problem ... my parents knew his parents, that's how I heard ... he was always "Jaunty" despite everything.
