I know ole Easy will have ago at me for this, but I really believe that the Merit Rating system is generally a crock of shyte which is subjectively handled by different indiniduals to fixed rules. Two good examples today.... in the 3rd race Thunder dance was chased home by the two lowest rated horses in the field.... and now D' Angelo rated at 69 wins cosily. In Race 7 Rose Lorraine a four time winner from 15 starts is rated a 67 ?? Topsy Turvy one time winner from 5 starts is rated 73, despite finishing closer to last than first since it's debut win. {hops off pedestal... meanders off to back a winner in Lingfield}
