Magic, is it a Graduation again or a MR race?

Different situation completely but Craig will remember a race when "We did not have a chance with a ride like that".

Alistair was away, at a sale I think, so Craig was with us at the track (Greyville). Our jockey had double-booked, and we ended up getting an apprentice, still on his qualifying rides. If I recall correctly, he managed to get our filly (Flag Me Down) to jump out well enough, but by the time they turned for home, he had her tailed off last, some way behind the second last horse in a fairly big field. The youngster was still learning but we never had a chance.

Just had a long chat to Karl and he said he is just trying too hard and after getting beaten on De Kocks in the 3rd and then beaten on Streaker when he came from last and he knew he should have won he just lost it and did not even think just pulled the stick and hit as he wanted to win so much. Just was not thinking straight. Will give it a break riding for the stable after tonight and just see how things go further down the road. I have passed on Karls apologies and explenation to the owner concerned. To me the matter is now over and let us go forward. At least we know he was really trying.

Thanks Craig. I mean this is all you can ask and i'm sure he will learn from his mistakes and become a better jockey going forward. Go THANDOLWAMI

Graduation plate over 2000m. Only 9 runners and not too much in the field, but the owner of Sergeant At Arms could whack me with a frying pan if she hears me saying that...(:P)

Careful she doesn't write an article about your statements Magic :) I reckon with the extra distance and being a graduation plate, this one must have a big chance. I think his rating was 83, but my memory isn't what it used to be.

Don't be silly Magic - I wouldn't waste a good frying pan like that (:P)

Of course I'll be shouting my boy home, but let's wait till Monday and see who's holding the winner and who's holding the frying pan B)

Zsuz, it looks like a 2 horse race. Your boy does have the proven stamina over 2000m, so may be the best horse win.>:D< And if there's something tasty in the frying pan I will be considerably less unhappy to be whacked with it....I do have a figure to maintain, you know.:D

The simple act of changing the whip to the other hand, would have seen him home comfortably.

That is what I like about Fortune, he seldom whips a Horse and his hands are better than any other Jock in the Country, some of the younger Jockeys need to realise that you do not have to beat the Horse half to death, in order for it to respond:(
