I honestly didn't notice the inception date and must have been away first time around,but I know Greg had a claim with them,and I offered help,if he needed it.
I agree with your assessment of "you get what you pay for" as I have helped 2 mates who were getting a runaround,dealing direct..........but I also know people that have been very impressed,and obviously Greg is one of them.

Cheers Rob I don't dispute any of that and respect that people will either choose the broker or direct channels.Its a matter of personal preference. I do not like the way that this particular company has marketed a negative perception of brokers in the past. They have made bold claims about be cheaper than the broker channel on all counts and brokers being shady operators who pedal policies from under their coats. There other famous one is that the broker can't offer an Outsurance quote. This in itself is bull I have sent a few undesirable risks their way.

Gregbucks has obviously noted my reappearance and has dug this old post out for a reason. It surely can't be to show the rest of the clan that I am going back on my principles. You will note that I did not post once after the 11th October 2011and I have only resurfaced now the add is gone.

At least you know what you need to do to get rid of me from the forum - Lobby for the return of the Outsurance add

AL, its pretty simple actually, I've had 4 claims with then in the last 10 years and have had nothing but ''top class service'' from Outsurance... Nothing else intended with my posting...:)

@keniza999:
'you always get something out................'

Yep! Zilch!

Years back, bought a Nissan bakkie out of the box for circa R70 000 after paying a deposit of R15 000 (R85 000 total).

Not even 3 months later, bakkie stolen (that was era when these hijackers wer using Nissan bakkies for their bank holdups).

What 'something' did I get out? R45 000.... they said they were being generous!!!!

All good Gregbucks - I did ask for the original to be removed but it was left on in the name of freedom of speech which I accept. In all fairness it was an over reaction and I could just have easily have gone away quietly. I could also have deleted the OUTburst but then what would that say? At the time I did not think about the consequences for ABC. These were pointed OUT by Hibs and Scotia and I should have thought a bit further than the moment and just go away. I have had a face to face with Scotia and its all good.

Anyway this site is not about me you a single topic or view of any one person. This site is great due to the difference of opinion and the sum of its parts - all of the posters on it.

Good on you, Al - we all over-react at times on issues that hit close to the heart
