It was way too hot to do any jumping up and down. Only the winning jockey of the Arc (and of course Frankie, who rode his 500th Group/Graded winner on the day) could be bothered to waste energy by leaping around like a frog on steroids. Oh, and the ice cream salesmen. I'm sure Claire Balding goes to the Arc every year and she said in an interview that it was the hottest Arc day that she could remember,

Although I did see John Freeman and Bernard Kantor there and they were looking pretty cool.(
