my point exactly Abacus. Racing has so much more to offer than betting tickets and it is sad to continuously see how it is deflated at operational level. And even sadder when knowing that better operations are operative in other parts of the world and it is just a case of mimic and apply - here and there at tipping points that can make the world of difference.

This initiative has got to come from the top yes? uplift the operations and brand build. I would like to take my girlfriends racing without having to explain the sport/interest to them, without having to see them dawdle around like a bambi - desperate for some information or support. They have to arrive at the course knowing the game and excited to be seeing the wonder that is on the day - be it a jock/horse/race off - its got to be that slick!! It has to be available, sassy and intelligent with a bit of emotive thrown in so that people can get hooked.

All the tools are in place but the resources are not being used.....poor vision indeed. Strategic drift.

@Umlilo -the operator has seen the error in their ways and also that they have chased off many of the jobless beggars who would take a risk and invest half of their bread money on a gamble that may result in a better meal. A R2 min swinger bet is being offered from next month. Crack it and one can endulge in a can of Lucky star pilchards to go with that half loaf.

That's the Corporate Social Intitiative to be lauded after I seen minors at TAB outlets, even infants!
