Lambie a tealeaf, too weak @flyhalf, now he going to be mowed over @fullback. Hard to support a team with constant experimentation. Management are clueless and I'm with Phil, we require more than a miracle not to be knocked out of the preliminaries.

won a weak world cup 4 years with a lucky draw evading kiwis france and oz ...our tri nations results since have showed how shit we are and supporters been living in a fools paradise...another lucky draw and some food poisioning could see us retaining the cup along with the unexpected sacking of john smit who couldnt make a club team on form and the highly intelligent coach who is a national disgrace..

I got a case of beers against another case beer or a bottle of J and B with either J- Pegged or Phil or both that we get through to the next round.
Either or both of you want the bet?

I agree with Craig, there is an enormous difference between Southern and Northern Hemisphere Rugby. Being the 3rd best Southern Hemisphere still make you the 3rd best team in the World. Purely because we can't beat NZ or OZ doesn't mean we can't beat Wales and Ireland.
I agree Snor is a poor coach and hopefully Rassie could replace him after the World Cup.
I am a person who usually bets with my head and leave loyalties at the door. I have had a decent bet on a NZ Tri-Nations, World Cup double, but it is time we unite behind our National side and give the Boks all the support we can.

I agree reaching the semi's is probably the best we can hope for - we should have 'bled' Lamby at flyhalf at the year-end tour last year - I could be wrong, but I think he could become a great flyhalf in years to come - and his kicking percentage probably not that far below Steyn's?
Looking to the future, I'm not sure that we have ready-made replacements for the likes of du Preez, Matfield and Botha - and imo that is where our biggest challenge is going to be in years to come

Agree 100% about Lambie will be a great Fly Half in years to come and all going well will be there is 2015. He still make elementary mistakes which we can't have at this level. We are going to have massive shoes to fill and guys like du Preez and Matfield are going to leave a huge void. Fortunately that is why we only have a World Cup ever 4 years and we will have time to build a team by then. The team that I believe will be great in 2015 is Australia with Genia and Cooper being 23 and O'Conner at 21 they can with the exception of 1 or 2 players take this side into the next World Cup.

Hi Pirates I think evens a good price as Phil Said they would battle and J-Pegged said they would need more than a miracle besides only a fun bet to make it interesting and can chirp each other. Lambie is going to be a star.He is very good already so can you imagine him when we get to the next World Cup going for 3 in a row!

Lambie can always improve as he has been chucked in the deep end and cannot get any worse. As for betting I am still a saffer and may be more inspired by a long shot miracle. Maybe the snor gets run over by a bus or is struck by an aeroplane part or better still is beaten up for not paying for a quick backseat pomp.

@Craig Eudey.
Thanks Craig but I get better odds at Hollys for a first round drop-out. Besides a "Tea and Scones at Mugg&Bean bet" would suit (TeeTotaller). I have a drinking problem: I cannot afford alcohol (because of horse-racing). LOL One vice is enough.
SA, undoubtedly, has some of the best players in the world. However poor coaching/management (NO VISION) can ruin their chances of progression and that makes the odds very attractive. Thats why I say they gonna battle in the prelims. I am a betting man (notwiththeheart) Sometimes to lose R200 is meaningless when you back against your own team and they beat you. BITTER SWEET. I know I could get shot for this but for me AUS to win RWC 2011. (and I not blaming old apartheid system)

New Zealand not at full strength tomorrow - but chances are that their 'B' string could still be too good for us - but I think the Boks will scrape in - one thing is for sure if we can't beat them tomorrow, then we have NO chance in the World Cup
