Then they need to change the rules. You can't blame a trainer for using the rules. Whether it's unethical or not is a matter of opinion, but make it illegal and the debate ends right there.

Magic, how long a process do think it is to be able to change this rule? If you ask me they will never change it anyway, so it will never be illegal. I take it that your stand is then that it's fine for a trainer to do this?

RACE 1, Anton Marcus was booked to ride QUICKALOOKEE the 7/10 Fav, early this morning he was swapped onto TRIPARTITE a 6/1 shot that returned 15/20 and won on the Snap

The problem i had was because of this change, the betting was suspended until not long before the race. When it did open Tripartite was 2/1.........no 11/2, 5/1, 9/2 etc.......

I didn't say that. I'm saying don't blame trainers who use the system for the benefit of their clients, their horses, and themselves. It's the system that sucks, not the trainers who use it.

That's why the system needs looking at, isn't it?

for what its worth
Quickaloochee had very good sand form from JHB
Tripartite no exposed form on sand and with yard less than a month. when Marcus took ride maybe a week ago which one u think he went with.
I dont think the jock change made a diff. You were getting beaten based on exposed form.
Bookies would not have prices up much different if Marcus was on TriPartite in my opinion.

Well best rule is to have a bet once horses gone down to start I spose...as a punter you know you on the losing end no matter what.

in this case....(i can understand the early punters gripe)...but what would the detractors of "millered"say if gunther was on tripartite and won .....he pulled a job and won with the other one.i think for Miller to let us know...that that TRIPARTITE was the 1 working better than the 2...was commendable information.I mean.i for 1 went to put R20 000 0N quickolookee...but took 40 000/20 000 on the eventual winner. In my case had the switch not been done...and even if tripartite was backed....i would have still went with quickalookee.....so i guess...i was thankful for the information...even at the late stage

Yes, Miller was in a no-win situation. If he leaves the jockeys as carded and Wrogemann wins on the "wrong" one, he still gets called every name under the sun.
