But I can get to Hollywood Park/Santa Anita/Del Mar within 3 hours.......hands on and all. I will invest in SA racing at some point but not just yet. Need to build some syndicates and partnerships first I would assume.
Looking forward to getting involved at some point again, just need t pick my battles right now!

Dnt own any horses at the moment. Life long dream that. Mind you im only 32 so I have time lol. I have a pretty good memory of the 90s. My passion is dam lines. Im waiting eagerly for a Bold Ellinore bred to run. That filly made me loads of cash and incidently her mother the dam Ellinore broke her maiden two weeks before the July and I backed her at any price and her dam was Bold Eileen so I have a soft spot for them. P Lunn for two years had to good fillies Bold Ellinore (before moving to de Kock) and Legally Blonde. I like blasts from the past. Good times.

Tommy - I have just been sent some pictures of "Lone Star Park Racecourse" in Dallas.
Wow it is amazing. The entrance looks like Ceasar's Palace.
Three trucks water the track after EVERY race and 4 John Deere's raking the sand.
Very impressive.

East,
Most of the parks here are in BIG trouble too.......just not moving with the times. Even the ones who over extended themselves and included a casino not doing too great. Racing has to re invent itself all around the globe in order for its own survival!!!
....and believe me when I tell you there is A LOT more love and exposure for the sport here in the USA then what there is in SA (comparatively speaking of course!)

Special Preview ran in the July of 1995 in the same week that Joey Soma father had passed away. I also have memories of the duel between Special Preview and National Emblem but Eldoriza beating both of them on the Highveld. The name of the race escapes me.
