the honk kong season finishes on the 10th of july and i think striker is contracted to the jockey club and not retained by a yard so that could make it difficult for him

"Jockey Robbie Fradd was today handed a three-month suspension for his ride on DACNING PILLOWS (Know Heights - Damcing Colors by Mightnight Tiger) in the Initiation - 1600m event at Kranji on March 20.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record and the nature of the charge. Fradd was suspended from riding in races for a period of three months with immediate effect from today to July 3, 2011 both dates inclusive and was advised of his right of appeal. "

Not going to comment on the suspension but the horse has run since and went "backwards" in the field every race there after.

got to agree with Fc that the staying types hardly win . The almost do but not quite . Two that spring to mind are space walk and Barelen.

also agree with magic's comment .

However a really strong case can be made for Vertical take off and it goes like this

First off, strictly on paper and a line through Esteco and at the present weights he is almost 0,5 to a length in front of Black wing which in turn brings him close to the 3yo's .

Times have been mentioned in earlier posts and if you consider he ran 2400m in 145.8 , a simple calculation will show (2400/145.80= 16.46 m/sec now take the daily news and woolavington disatnce ie 2000m divide that by his time per second 16.46m/sec and you get 121.50 . Not too shabby taking into account that he covered 400 m more than the runners in the other two features on the same day .

So on paper he not a bad roughie at all !!!! On paper !

July is a grade 1 so his suspension will not affect his chance to ride on the day if he chooses to ride
Give everything but up!
