All the best boys - I was looking forward to this double header but after yesterdays disgrace, my time will be better spent on San Lameer's golf course in 30 degree heat. Probably going to be far less frustrating.
Good luck playing the intelligent bet today. Lets hope there are no more assaults on our intelligence. We really need to choose a day or few and boycott racing completely. That's why I still believe punters need an association so that we can mobilise against the industry when we are not happy rather than whine on these forums. Nobody takes us seriously and the industry preys on the addictions of the punting masses. They know that we cannot change things individually.
I would love to do a survey to see what contributors to these forums contribute to the industry on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Perhaps Bob can give us an idea on the number of registered members. We may be able to then get a fair guestimate.

well said al and when you in the durban area i would like to meet and chat to you about a punters association as i have very strong feelings about it...hopefully we can have a national meeting one day with many of the punters who post on here attending...it can only improve the industry for punters to have representation on the racing boards

Cheers Pirates. I am not sure when I will be up that way again (other than this weekend's family reunion) but I will be happy to meet to discuss these issues. I will ask Bob for your email address closer to the time or I am happy for him to release my email address to you.
It really is time for meaningful change in this industry.
I am waiting to see an explanation for yeterday and I am hoping that Big T will get a response and post as soon as it comes to hand. The result of yesterday is what it is, we have to move on but I would expect nothing less than a public apology for yesterdays mess. If it does not happen then this game is really in the toilet.

Sorry to say, but a major problem I foresee with punter representation is that, if various internet forums are any yardstick, some of the things which some people post are so bizarre and downright ridiculous that it cannot come as a big surprise if they are not taken seriously. Don't get me wrong, many of their concerns are valid and need to be aired, but those who spout bullshit at every opportunity do the rest of the racing public no favours whatsoever.

i agree... there are some serious issues that need to be addressed... (the menial crap thats splurted out in forums can be dissolved very easily).. with a punters association atleast the concerns/issues can be prioritised and hopefully dealt with.

To return to today's racing, isn't Captain Scott more effective on the inside track? His record would certainly suggest it.
