Hi Mac, just to put you in the loop....when my mom remarried - she married Piet Stroeble's brother - Gerry. I did meet Piet on a few occasions & you are quite right about his 12 wins in the guiness book of records.
Im sure this is obviously where I got the racing BUG from..... & it did stick....... so much to say that my daughter is a jock in Joburg ( unfortunately a battling jock at present, cause not many trainers out there are willing to give her rides ( bar a few ) She does need an agent I think )

Elvis, ever consider letting your daughter come down to the Cape? would still be hard getting rides but I recall at least 3 female jocks being down there at different times and they got a fair number of rides especially the bottom weights - of course at the time there was a shortage of lightweights around.
