No - I see it as I see promoting Poker at Night racing. The tote is effectvely teaching punters about multiples and tote punters will soon enough end up taking their multiples with bookies. The fixed odds pros will not use it for reasons mentioned above. With all the talk of limit cuts, who knows, perhaps the bet will be a success.

The Jackpot rule change is a winner and I would love to see what effect it has had on turnover when the next annual reort comes out. It has not seemed to dampen Pick 6 pools. I wonder if there is not room for scrapping the same rules in the P6. We would end up with Caryover pools similar to the lotto eventually.

No. Why take the bet on the tote and reduce your payout with each winning leg when you can take it elsewhere?

I'm not so much concerned with knowing my return beforehand (having decent success with Pick 6) but there is no value in a tote all-to-come bet.

Al, it seems unlikely that they will change the Pick 6 rules to mirror the jackpot. One of their 'reasons' for changing the Jackpot was to make it materially different from the Pick 6, aside from just the number of legs.

No - in the unlikely event that I take a straight bet, I prefer to take it one at a time - giving me the option of holding back some of my profit.

As regards to the JP, I have not taken a single JP since the rules changed...but imo it still is a better bet than the Pick 3 (only because fractional betting still applies in the JP)
