Every one of these clubs want to control their own media rights. So for example Man United have 500 million fans around the world who want to watch their matches on TV. The PL sell the rights around the world of which the clubs get a cut. Now the clubs want all the revenue for themselves so they set up their own TV rights and charge a pound a game. 500 million people paying a pound a game, work that out over the year. Greed, greed, greed. It’s going to destroy football in Europe. Don’t blame the clubs, blame the owners of these clubs.

i reckon first salvo across the bows of UEFA and FIFA. They have tested the waters and will now go away and work on other ways to get more money out of UEFA and the media deals.
Technology will be one of the main drivers on how this ends.
